Strange timing watching this straight after a BBC 2 documentary "inside the Iranian uprising". Hitchens was spot on WIth his comments on this one.

I think that humans being part of the ape family is very elegant. One of the things Mr Hitchens and I disagree on. I cherich my realtion to apes, to mammals, to trees, to microflora and microfauna. Its all part of the beauty and elegance of life. Of which, my species and I am a part of. Though, admittedly I do feel some shame knowing Ben Stein is one of my species. Without a doubt, Richards and the panel lost their debate against Hitchens. Hitchens was great but if this was later in life he would have made a better showing of it. As Richards and the panel already believe they know the answers, I dont think what year of their life would have made a difference. None of them have a shred of proof of their belief. Facts, science, evidence and critical thinking always provide better answers than what we feel is comfortable and fairy tales. Remember, most people believed thought it took a god to make the sun move across the sky. They did not understand cosmology. So a god must being doing it. If you apply the same reasoning for anything today we do not understand you are making the same mistake. As well as subscribing to belief systems that harm people and delay us humans from creating a just and equal world. We will never push ourselves to finding the answers if we think we already know them. Especially 'answers' that keep us harming each other.

Wow, Richards believes you shouldnt talk about penises or circumcism, but its Ok to mutilate babies of both sexes. Such hypocrisy. And you cant talk about individual faiths even though the debate is about theism. How does one not talk about religions yet still talk about theism. Its saying my crazy is better than their crazy so its unfair to lump us all together except all faiths are theism. I love how all three are ganging up on Hitchens. The topics are humanism vs creationsim. Creationism is theism. Hitchens is exposing theism and these gentleman are feeling threatened so they are responding with verbal violence. Richards again is lying. Maybe innocently, but presenting false evidence. Almost exclusively, the scientist at the highest level of every discipline do not believe in god. As you go done the levels of education and acheivement the incidence of theism goes up a little bit but they are still in the dramatic minority. And he is lying about Dawkins. Dawkins did not say that with the intention to state their is some god affect. He emphatically argues against what Richards says. This is what apologists do. Misrepresent what people say. Sadly.

Because you want to believe their was an intelligent designer means there is. Again, the sun moving across the sky was the act of a god because we didnt know better. Just because we dont know what was before the big bang doesnt mean a god did it. Its childish reasoning migrating and receding from truth of science. We were proofed wrong before but we will die on this hill. Oh crap, we lost that hill. Well we'll die on this hill then. Ben asking that question was an @hole question. It was a catch 22 question. No moral oor decent human would ask a panelist such a question or allow it to be asked. Why does that man have any respect from anyone moral? Sigh, Jay keeps strawmaning Hitchens.

Indoctrination into religion of children is pure child abuse. Take a perfect, innocent child and tell them they are born bad. That people they love and including themselves, are going to a place of extreme pain and siffering for eternity for just being born. This traumatizes children. It doesnt stop there. Theists parents just dont leave it at that. A ps theist parents they are traumatized in early childhood and dont recognize that, makes them highly likely to cause other traumas to the child. Which that child will continue on the cycle of trauma as they defend their right to traumatize their children and raise them mentally ill as they were raised mentally ill. Apperently its the holy way. Which makes children of theist susceptable to pedophile religious. Not by proximity. But by the normalization of those who are supposed to protect them preying on them. They know its wrong. But its their world. Its how things seem to work in their horrific world. And people like Jay defend this method of thinking. Of course he doesnt condone it but he refuses to see beyond his proscribed method of thinking to see what the outcomes of theism are. Atheism doesnt subscribe to this sort of thinking. Reality is reality. If people get hurt, something is wong and something must change. For theists, they know the answers. If something is wrong, the only thing that needs to change are other people. Doing the same thing over and over again and getting the same bad results mean nothing to theists. For athiests, one bad result means to question what we are doing. Think critically about our thoughts and actions and makes changes to insure the same bad outcome doesnt happen again.

This god, as he says is goodness and love, with the caveat , according to theistic belief. Not factual. Not proven. Just because you want to think it is so. And he claims that theistic morals are better than atheist morals. Providing no proof. Killing children for making fun of Ezekial for being bald with bears. Being angry at humans and killing every last living creature on earth including babies, fetuses, kittens, puppies, etc, ...telling Isrealites to kill literally everything alive ocupying the land supposedly set aside for them. The abrahamic golden rule is to do unto others as you would have them do to you. Atheisms golden rule is do to others as they would have you do. Atheism forbids slavery. Abrahamic religions give you rules on how to handle slaves. Its kind of an important part to just skip over and stress comfort zones in belief. Then he claims mathematics and science prove that god exists. Mathematicians and scientists everywhere cant support this statement as over 95% are atheists. And again, he tells a lie. Which supports myself calling him a piece of crap. He says, without proof, that everyone knows there is a god shaped hole in science and mathematics so why dont atheists accept it. Because its not real and he cant even begin to prove it. His argument is identical to people in Greece not knowing why the sun rose in the east, moved across the sky, then set in the west. It must be a god who does this. We dont know what became before the big bang. We may never know. But to just state that because we dont know then it must be god would have stopped the exploration in the laws of phsyics, we dont know therefore god, and we would still be iron age morons burning witches. Of course this would not stop everyone. And we would proceed in our knowledge but how many more people would suffer and die due to this immature thinking. Thank you for summing up your argument. Interesting. Life, the universe and everything is because its more interesting. None of this is even remotely evidence of intelligent design. Its feel good word salad for people who would rather accept life in a cage of theism no matter who it hurts. Though he does do a decent job of evolution. It does take an immense amount of trial and error to evolve something that works. He just denies, through limited vision, the time scale the universe works on. Its like saying the US is a failed democracy because we havent perfected it yet. We've only been at it 200 hundred years or so. We're trying. I thought he was swimming in dangerous waters before his last statements, wow, he is ready to touch bottom in the Laurentian abyss and Hitchens is the Kraken about to swallow him whole. I cant wait for part 4.

I'm sorry, Jay Richard's is a piece of crap. With all due respect. He starts of by claiming theism and atheism are on equal footing scientifically and mathematically and then immediately moves to what feels better. He presents his opening with a lie and then quickly moves from the lie to feelings. Which one is our morals truth more at home with? Disingenuous in the extreme. He doesn't intend to prove anything. Only to ask if people feel more comfortable with theistic morals or athiesitic morals. He even lies in describing theism. He is not arguing there is a god. He is playing on emotions that you feel better thinking there is a god that has a personal interest in you. He is presenting that you should accept there is a god because you feel better holding your security blanket or stuffed animal (mine is a an orange tabby cat btw) rather than opening your eyes and mind to the fact that if there is a god, it's not personally interested in you and much more likely there isn't one. He is simply asking whether you feel better thinking one thing or the other. The problem is though, when you think like him, people suffer. When you think like him humanity's potential to create a fair and just world is shunted off that much longer. He means well. But he is doing humanity a great disservice and perpetuates unnecessary suffering and death. Again, not his intention, but is the result of keeping humanity immature and mentally unwell.

She is obviously not Iranian. The way she says "Islam" no Persian speak er would ever say it like that. Her salam alaykom at the end is complete un-Iranian. Iranians say Salam as hello. Some may say salam alaykom as hello. But they would never ever say it in any other context. The way she uses it is clearly not Iranian. And her pronunciation of Arabic words is clearly of a native Arab speaker.

If you pay attention to her accent it’s not an Iranian accent, it’s actually Arabic when she says “Quran” and “Allah”. She is one of those people (I won’t mention from which country) bought and paid for by the Islamic regime to infiltrate Western media and forums, and disseminate their propaganda.
